Philae Temple in Aswan. The temple of god Isis, known in
ancient time as the goddess of healing. In Greek and Roman
times, pilgrims flocked to Philae to pay homage to the mysterious
and benign Isis.

South of Aswan lies the Great
Temples of Ramses II at Abu Simbel. Two grandiose figures
seated on the throne facing the rising sun is 65 feet high,
each of the Pharaoh himself. His Queen Nefertari and his
daughters are represented by smaller statues at his feet.
Nearby in another rocky cliff is the temple of Hathor. Before
this temple are six large statues, about 32 feet high, two
of the figures are Nefertari as goddess Hathor. In this
valley you will have admired the unique work of the builders
of 3,500 years ago.
