Sha'ab Sharm
One of the most beautiful dive sites
south of Mersa Alam with steep sloping
walls on its east and south sides.
The reef has characteristic shelves
located both north and south and is
best dived by following the edge of
the plateaux. The southern plateau
offers the best dive with colourful
soft and hard coral (25m), and an
abundance of fish life such as barracuda,
grouper, snapper and giant moray eels.
Grey reef and hammerhead sharks are
common in the area, with huge napoleon
wrasses and groupers.

Ghadir El Bar & Arug Ghadir
(East)
The Ghadir chain is a group of 3 coastal
reefs made up of Ghadir El Bar, Erug
Ghadir and Ghadir El Shark. Deep canyons
chiselled in the reef with endless
fields of anemones and huge table
coral formations make El Bar and Arug
Ghadir one of the most impressive
dives in the south. Ghadir East boasts
some stunning coral formations with
tunnels and caves and a feast of multicoloured
soft coral. Turtles, whitetip reef
shark, tuna, stingrays and grouper
are only but a few of the species
that can be found in the area.
In the winter months high seas and
waves breaking along the coast can
cause some difficulty in accessing
some of these offshore sites.
