Gene Bates, an associate of Fred Couples, designed
the El Gouna course to be accessible to every
level of golfer, from the tourist who wants
to learn the game, to the advanced golfers playing
in a Pro Am tournament. By having five different
tees and a careful placement of bunkers, lagoons,
and desert rough, the course plays well to every
level of golfer. The winds, predominately from
the north, make certain holes that appear to
be a straightforward challenge for any golfer.
The 18-hole golf course thrills advanced as
well as beginning players.
