For most of the coastline, all dive sites are accessible from the shore. The rare exceptions are the Hidden Islands, which require boat support. Remote sites such as Gabr El Bint and Ras Abu Galum, which can be reached only by Camel from Dahab, are also visited by Boat Divers from time to time. Major drop-offs occur more in the north with the impressive descents of the Bells-Blue Hole dive being the best example. Also the divesites around Abu Galum are offering great drop-offs. All sites eventually do drop to great depths further into the Gulf.The tides and currents in the area are changeable, both in direction and in strength. In the winter major wave surge occurs during the high tide periods, pounding the reef edges. From time to time there are southerly winds but the prevailing winds tend from the NE. Located in the Hotel on 30 meters from the sea , the Barakuda Daniela Vsillage has been opened in September 1999 and is managed by Susanne Rossbach (PADI OWSI, SSI AOWI, CMAS TL*, ITD Nitrox-Instructor). The Center is professional and the team is very freindly. All the diving sites are attainable from the shore from both diving centers, where we go to by Jeep. As we are located close to the most beautiful and exciting diving sites such as "Blue Hole" or "Canyon", which we can reach in maximum 15 Minutes, we return to the Diving Center for a lunch brake.
Our beach bar is offering a great variety of snacks and drinks.For the first dive in the morning we depart around 9:30 am, the second dive will be at 14:00 pm after the surface intervall. If we do a full day trip to the dive sites "Caves" or "Om Sid", which are in the south of Dahab, we are going to offer snacks for lunch. Last but not least, we are an active member of the international society of reef protection, making sure that the flora and fauna remains untouched for many years to come. As in the global project aware, we prevent touching and collecting of sea shells or any other creatures of the seven seas.
